More to come…
Welcome to Boquatta.com, the joint website of Vibraphonist/Percussionist Diana Herold and Drummer Grisha Alexiev. We’ve been playing music for more than 30 years. Both of us are composers and arrangers.
Our passion for jazz music was ignited early with Diana having the opportunity to perform with Duke Ellington, and Grisha with Sam Rivers and Chet Baker. This is the foundation that drives our playing and writing to this day. Whatever we play is informed by that love.
We’re skilled at multiple styles, including: shows (both Off- and On-Broadway), Industrials, Commercial music, music for Film and TV, Latin Music, Rock, Soul, R&B (including New Orleans Second Line) and Country.
Diana Herold has Master’s Degrees from Rice University and New England Conservatory. Grisha holds an Artist Diploma from New England Conservatory, and a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts from City College of New York.
We are seasoned instructors and have taught both privately and at the college level. We also present clinics and master classes on many aspects of our art.
Between the two of us, we are featured on well over fifty CDs. Some highlights:
-
Rob Henke “White Paws”
-
Mystic Pilgrims “Mystic Pilgrims”
-
Michael Rabinowitz “Bassoon in Orbit,” “Ocean Eyes”
-
